How to use Talemaiker

Talemaiker is organized into Projects and Conversations.

Projects’ are where you can keep conversations about particular screenplays and story concepts.

If you have a new draft of a script, upload it to a new conversation within the same project folder. There are no limits to the projects and conversations you can have on Talemaiker.

After starting a new project and conversation, upload your script and hit the arrow button.

You can see a summary of all of your Projects and Conversations on the Dashboard.

Screenwriting assistant

This is the default assistant and the starting point for your latest draft. Start by uploading a screenplay, a treatment, or a summary, and then hit enter. Talemaiker will then read your story and churn out a summary, act structure, character list, and even a little feedback. It will then give you eight options to explore immediately. All you need to do is type a number and hit Enter to continue exploring your script.

Talemaiker works with PDFs, Word documents, or any text-based document. On occasion, PDFs may not be fully readable due to encryption issues, but they should work most of the time.

Ideation Engine

The ideation engine is where some true magic can happen. We use the double twist method to crack open ideas that can help take your story to the next level. For us, it has even solved writer’s block! Ask Talemaiker about any area of your story that could use some spicing up. Need a new setting? Some new rules or flair? Is a character too boring or cliche? Ideation engine can be your personal brainstorming assistant. We find it doesn’t give us the ideas, but it often GETS us to the ideas. And that’s a cognitive process that can take days, weeks, or even years to achieve.

World Builder

Want to see if your concept is any good? Need some help putting some meat on the skeleton of a story idea? The Talemaiker world builder is here to break your story ideas open. Can your feature become a series? How many seasons? Let the World Builder help you explore every nook and cranny of your world.

Character Sketch

Ask Talemaiker to generate image prompts for Midjourney (but they work in other generators as well). After the Screenwriting Assistant has read your script, ask it to visualize any of your characters. The Character Sketch Assistant will then generate a series of prompts in a variety of styles that you can simply cut and paste into the image generator of your choice. Great for presentation and deck building! If the prompts being generated aren’t quite what you’re looking for, just ask it to redo it how you want eg, brown eyes instead of blue, or more in the vein of so-and-so actor, etc.

Scene Sketch

Choose a scene from your screenplay, and Talemaiker will generate prompts for you in various styles. Choose the ones you like the best and use them for presentations or pitch decks. If the outputs are off, just ask Talemaiker to redo it the way you’d like!

Deck Builder Assistant

Switch over to the deck builder and simply hit the arrow button to get started. This WILL NOT build a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation for you, but it will give you the recipe and ingredients you need to build a powerful visual deck for your script. From fonts and colors to imagery, summaries, characters, dream casting, and critical market data, Talemaiker’s deck-building assistant is here to help you save days of work and searching to make a compelling pitch deck that is truly representative of your story and hopefully help you sell it!
